This is the first book I’ve read from author Siri Mitchell, but I’m glad I chose to read it. It was not a time period that I am used to reading, however the author kept my interest throughout the book easily. I think it helped by changing the point of view every chapter. I enjoyed getting into the minds of both the main characters instead of just one, as in typical writing format.
I will admit that it did take me a couple chapters to get into the storyline. At first I did not think I was going to like Lucinda at all. I assumed her to be just like her father, nothing but a cheat! But over time I learned to enjoy reading about her and seeing how the world around her was a little different then she thought it’d be.
I would recommend this book to those who like more of a historical feel to their stories. You will not be sorry you picked it up!
