His Encouragement – Follow Me

Hello my friends. Welcome to another addition of His Encouragement. A weekly post to help get you through your week.

With everything going on last year, this year, and the probable future, a lot of people are in turmoil. They don’t know what to do, they don’t know where to go, and they don’t know how to act. I get it – totally. Work is super hard for me right now. I am the only Christian, and everyone else is so liberal it’s scary. They talk about politics and everything that’s happening constantly. Me? I just stay away from it. It’s not worth it, ya know?

Last night at church we prayed for our country. For the people, for the government (both parties), for the families involved, everyone. And then my pastor delivered such a wonderful message. He asked a similar question to what I referenced above – what can we do when the world is upside down? I love his answer. Are you ready?

Be a Christian.

That’s it. Seems so simple and yet so many of us have it wrong. It means be Christ-like. How would Christ respond? With prayer, love and compassion. Understand that not everyone has the same viewpoints, and don’t condemn them for it. Pray for salvation for the lost people. Pray for revival in this country! Help those who are in need, even if you have differing views.

Be. A. Christian.

The end of Joshua 24:15 comes to mind here……

“…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

That’s what I want to do. I want to serve my loving, gracious, compassionate God. I want to draw closer. I want to be more Christ-like. I think if we all do that, we can make a huge impact! And that impact starts in our own hearts. If we’re always looking up instead of looking at media, our hearts will be lighter, we will have joy, and we can shine the light in our communities.

Will you join me friends?
