Happy Saturday everyone! I’m happy to be a part of the TLC BookTour for The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming by Ophelia London. It’s been awhile since I’ve read an amish fiction book. It’s not that I don’t like them, but I don’t think I’m as “into” them as I was in the past. I’d rather read a historical novel, or a YA. Maybe it’s my season of life, or perhaps it’s just my mood at the moment. Even so, I’m glad I gave this book a shot.

Amazon | Barnes and NobleWhat happens when a traditional horse whisperer clashes with an unconventional trainer within the charming Amish community of Honey Brook?
Grace Zook has always held a talent with horses, ever since she was a child growing up in her quaint Amish village of Honey Brook. Now, as an adult, she’s become a master trainer—but still struggles to prove to her father that she is worthy of taking over the family’s horse farm. With a fiery new stallion coming soon, Grace knows this challenge is her chance to prove she can finally take the reins.
When widower and horse whisperer Isaac King is offered the lead training job on a new farm out of town, he’s thrilled to finally make a name for himself and provide some permanent roots for his young daughter. But not only is the stallion seemingly unbreakable, so, too, is the owner’s headstrong daughter Grace, who has drastically different ideas about how to handle the impossible horse. Yet somehow, he can’t seem to get the confident, beautiful woman out of his mind...even though as his boss’s daughter, she is completely off-limits.
There’s too much at stake for Isaac to gamble his future on Grace...even though suddenly, he can’t imagine one without her.

My Perspective
This was an interesting read to me, probably because it is unlike any amish novel I’ve ever read. Our wonderful heroine has a way with horses. Horses!! She trains them, which really blew my mind. It’s not often in the Amish community that you see a working woman. I really enjoyed reading about Grace’s love for all things horses. The fact that she was out there working with them was amazing to me, and inspiring!
I have to be honest, all eyes were on Isaac while reading this. He had a story to tell, and I was perfectly content to sit back and watch him figure Grace out while I was waiting to hear it. They had some good banter, and some laughable moments which the story enjoyable to read.
There were times the plot went a little slow for my taste, however that may not be the same for everyone. But overall this was a story I enjoyed reading with lovable characters, fun, laughter, and maybe even some cute animals! I think Amish fiction fans will love this story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
