"A perfect storm of thrilling suspense and intricate plot twists that will leave readers breathless!” --Nancy Mehl, author of the Ryland & St. Clair series

On a remote Outer Banks island, a serial killer collects his prized specimens. And to stop him, an FBI agent must confront his own twisted past.

FBI agent Tiberius Granger has seen his share of darkness. But a new case sets him on edge. It’s not just the macabre way both victims—found posed in front of lighthouses—are tattooed with flowers that match their names. There’s also the unsettling connection to the woman Ty once loved and to the shadowy cult they both risked everything to escape.

Bexley Hemmingway’s sister has gone missing, and she’ll do anything to find her—including teaming up with Ty. That may prove a mistake, and not just because Ty doesn’t know he’s the father of her teenaged son. It seems the killer is taunting Ty, drawing everyone close to him into deeper danger.

As the slashing winds and rain of a deadly hurricane approach the coast of North Carolina, the search leads Ty and Bex to an island that hides a grisly secret. But in his quest for the truth, Ty has ignored the fact that this time, he’s not just the hunter. Every move has been orchestrated by a killer into a perfect storm of terror, and they will need all their skills to survive…

10 Things I Love About The Garden Girls

  • The suspense – Patch keeps you on your toes with this story. There are so many twists and turns. They are creepy but I love them!
  • The victim POV – Don’t assume you know who this is. That’s all I’m saying.
  • The creativity – ok a guy who tattoos women with flowers based on their names, plus an extra layer (sorry spoiler)…. I mean wow Patch was creative in thinking about this.
  • The Criminal Minds vibe – I loved that show when it was on. I know it’s weird, but I like seeing what makes the mind tick for the bad guys. Like I need to know why they do things like they do, to understand it I guess. No, I’m not going to do what they do because of this. I just like to learn more about the brain. And we learn alot about the bad guy in the this story.
  • The religion aspect – and I don’t mean Christianity. I mean the back story for Ty. The family that he came from was intriguing to me. I actually recently watched an episode of Tracker on tv that had a family similar to this, and I just find it fascinating to learn what people believe and why they believe it.
  • The cover – I’m just gonna let that one speak for itself 🙂
  • Good versus evil – Patch has shown this in so many different ways in this story and they are all emotional, beautiful, and perfectly placed into the story.
  • Faith thread – Ty always had his own opinion about God and it was nice to see how he grew throughout this book. I feel like Patch handled that part of him realistically. So many times authors want to just instantly “save” their characters, and that’s just not real life. I thought she handled Ty’s faith journal with grace and care.
  • Romance – I enjoy a good second chance romance, and this one had more layers than most do which made it all the more enjoyable.

And my very favorite things about The Garden Girls…………

  • The Jesus parallel. Unfortunately I cannot really say a lot about this without spoiling something MAJOR in the story. But there is an absolutely stunning parallel of Jesus laying down His life for us in this book. It made my cry. Like ugly cry. It was so beautiful, and I pray that it touches the hearts of readers!
