Q&A With Toni
Hello Toni! I’m so happy to you have on the blog today 😊
Let’s start by telling readers a little bit about yourself.
My name is Toni Shiloh and I write faith-filled romances, full of authentic, diverse characters, that leave you with heartwarming vibes. I’m a native of Texas but currently reside in northern Virginia not too far from our nation’s capital.
Tell us more about these amazing books you have written, and maybe give a sneak peek into what’s ahead!
I’ve written 30+ Christian contemporary romances that usually have themes of grace, importance of family and friendships, and feature African American characters. My next release, Hearts on the Fly, is about a hockey player who gets injured and it leaves him with deteriorating eyesight. It releases February 3, 2026 and is currently available for preorder.
What led you to write in the genre you’re currently writing?
I fell in love with writing and as a person who’s always been a hopeless romantic, writing in the contemporary romance genre was a no brainer. My faith is also vital to me and I wanted to make sure I honored God with my work hence Christian fiction. 😊
Were you a big reader and/or writer as a child?
Definitely! You could always find my nose in a book. I lived for the summer when I had endless time to read and nothing else to distract me.
What book(s) had a big influence on you growing up? How about as an adult?
As a child I was a big fan of series like Babysitter’s Club, Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew, etc. As an adult authors like Ronie Kendig, Becky Wade, and Lauraine Snelling showed me how great Christian romance could be.
How do you try to incorporate your faith into your stories?
It’s always dependent on the faith journey my characters are going through. There’s a whole arc along with the romance plot and you can’t have one without the other.
Now some fun questions:
What’s on your TBR right now?
I have so many but The Marriage Game by Heather Miekstyn, Meant for Me by Betsy St. Amant, and Battle Charged by Hannah Hood Lucero are ones I’ll probably read soon.
Coffee or Tea (or something else!)?
Tea though there’s a coffee shop near me that makes a honeybee latte that might turn me into a coffee drinker.
Favorite snack?
Don’t really have one. I get sick of eating the same thing over and over.
Favorite read from 2025?
I don’t have just one favorite but a few mentionables are The Lodge by Kayla Olson; First Love, Second Draft by Becca Kinzer; The Midnight Princess by Kiera Dominguez; and Seas the Dating Coach by Laura Langa.
Favorite TV show?
Love is Blind because romance. 🥰
And finally, favorite bookish quote?
“In the end, we’ll all become stories.” Margaret Atwood
Thank you so much for chatting with me today! I loved getting to learn more about you!!
