I don’t know about you but I love National Parks. It would be a dream come true to visit one. But while that is not in the cards for me, I can visit them via books!

Kate Cunningham is facing the opportunity of a lifetime. As a zoo photographer, she's spent years photographing animals in carefully controlled environments, but now National Geographic has dangled an irresistible prize: If Kate can snag a unique photo of a legendary bear in Grand Teton National Park, they just might publish it. It's the kind of challenge Kate has been waiting for, and she's eager to prove herself in the wild.
With more enthusiasm than experience, Kate soon realizes that capturing an image of this bear isn't as simple as she hoped. Fortunately, she crosses paths with Grant Cooper, a seasonal park ranger who knows the terrain--and the bears--better than anyone. His tracking skills could be exactly what Kate needs to succeed, and it doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes. But they're not the only ones with an interest in the park's most famous bear. And his motives are far from innocent.
A clean, kisses-only contemporary romance and summer read by Suzanne Woods Fisher for wildlife, travel, and photography enthusiasts set in Grand Teton National Park.
My Perspective
The last time I read a book about a National Park was when I read a book by Karen Barnett. I adore her books! When I found out that Suzanne Woods Fisher was doing a contemporary story set in a national park, I was like yes please!! So going in I already had high expectations.
Let me assure you – SWF hit this one out of the park. I absolutely loved it!
Kate was such a great character. Truly. She was no the run of the mill photographer and that is why I simply adored her. She was quirky, apt to make mistakes, or be a little clumsy. Honestly, she kind of reminded me of myself in that regard. And while I know what other photographers said bothered her a little, she wasn’t afraid to be her own person. She kept showing up, kept trying.
And then of course we have our swoony hero, Grant Cooper. He had his own things to deal with, like being forced to do things around the park he wasn’t accustomed to. But his character had some really great growth, and I enjoyed seeing him come around, especially to his “shadow”.
But guys. It gets better. Yes, there’s bears. Bears! But somehow SWF managed to bring in a great mystery with a plot twist I didn’t see coming. Yep, is may not be a suspense novel by trade, but I was sitting at the edge of my seat waiting to see how it all played out. You think you have things all figured out, you know what characters are good and which are bad and then WHAM! Surprise! You don’t lol.
Capture the Moment was a great read with applicable life lessons, great romance, and an engaging plot. I highly recommend!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
