I turned to him, and he winked at me. Winked! We needed clear lines in place between us. We would not be flirty friends. We'd be friends, period. The sooner I made that distinction, the better.

Forty-year-old Kate Landry's carefully planned life has become as messy as the powdered sugar on her famous beignets. Juggling the responsibilities of running her café, raising her teenage niece, and the emotional baggage from her breakup, Kate finds her world once again turned upside down when her first-ever crush, Micah Guidry, returns to town as the hunky local librarian.

As Kate struggles to implement her plans to expand her café amid the New Orleans Mardi Gras madness and the meddling of her conniving ex-fiancé, Micah becomes the unwitting hero of her misadventures, stirring up feelings she thought she'd long buried. How can falling in love in the Big Easy be this hard?

"Smiles on every page! I loved that both characters were older than most heroes and heroines. . . . Ideal for Christian fiction readers who enjoy rom-coms!"--BECKY WADE on Julia Monroe Begins Again

"Up-and-coming romance author Rebekah Millet shines in this delightful second-chance story."--DENISE HUNTER on Julia Monroe Begins Again

This clean contemporary romance includes themes of family, overcoming past heartbreak, and midlife romance in the vibrant city of New Orleans. Kate Landry Has a Plan is a perfect read for fans of Becky Wade, Pepper Basham, Courtney Walsh, Christian romance, and second-chance love stories.

My Perspective

Kate Landry has a plan alright – a plan to make me laugh and giggle and even snort a time or two. Through no fault of her own of course – she can’t help it if a crazy parrot enters her life unexpectedly and turns part of it upside down! In case you were wondering, the parrot caused the snorting to occur.

Humor isn’t the only thing this novel is loaded with. There’s swoony romance (um hello Mr. Librarian!), faith, realistic character growth, and a teenager who has her own flare and personality. Millet’s writing is a breath of fresh air in the Rom-Com scene. But more than just laughs, she brings real life scenarios. The leading lady puking during one of the first main encounters with our hero? Let’s face it, it could happen and I much prefer this to them meeting each other on the beach, locking eyes, and then BAM they are in love. No this was much, much better. And even after the puke, even after Kate was somewhat curt with our leading guy, he still chases her. I mean that is what it’s all about right there.

Millet has a way with words, characters and stories. Her novels bring joy, hope, laughter, and are honestly just the right medicine for any reading slump, bad day, illness, or basically any part of life. I highly recommend reading not only Kate Landry Has a Plan, but go back at start with Julia’s story. It is not to be missed.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
