Peace has been elusive for most of Gertrude Miller' s life, especially under the oppressiveness of an overbearing mother. My Perspective

Wooing Gertrude is everything I wanted and more. Not only does Wolfe stay true to the time period, but she easily pulls the reader into the story with wonderfully crafted characters. Just when you think you’re going to have a mail-order husband story (yes you read that right!), Wolfe surprises you with a wonderful twist. Then comes Enoch, this unexpected but delightful addition to the story. Readers will not be able to put the book down while embarking on Gertrude and Enoch’s journey. With faith, fun, guinea pigs, and character growth, Wolfe has penned another wonderful novel that I can see myself enjoying many times over the years. Highly recommend!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Interview with Gertrude Miller

Hi Gertrude! It’s great to have you here today. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, where you live, where your story is set, etc.?

Thank you for having me. Like you said, I’m Gertrude Miller. The author set my story in Burrton Springs, Kansas in 1877. I’m an only child and have lived most of my life under my mother’s shadow. She’s been known to track men down just to tell them about my qualifications. It’s downright embarrassing. What she doesn’t know is I decided to take matters into my own hands and send for a mail-order groom.

Wow! I don’t think I’ve seen that before. How exciting. I hope it works out for you. Do you have anything you like to do in your spare time?

I’m a seamstress. In fact, I’m just getting ready to open my very own dress shop. For months I’ve sold my creations at the local general store and things have really been selling. I decided to finally stand on my own and purchased a building in town. Hopefully all the local ladies will see the value of having a dress shop.

You have a lot of things going on in your life. Is your story part of a series?

Yes. Wooing Gertrude is book three in the Burrton Springs Brides Series. The author only mentioned me a few times in her first book, Taming Julia. Then in her next book, Protecting Annie, I became the heroine’s best friend. I’m glad the author finally decided to write a book about me. I sure hope she gives me a happily-ever after ending to my story.

Can you give us a little more information about the book?

Can you tell us how Enoch will fit into your story?

I don’t know. I haven’t really met him before. Who knows what the author is thinking.

Thank you so much for chatting with me today!!

Thanks again for having me here, Jessica.
