His Encouragement – Promises of the Bible 3

Posted by abakersp in Thoughtful Thursday / 3 Comments

Hello friends! Welcome to another week of His Encouragement, a weekly dose of biblical encouragement to help get you through your week! I’m so honored to be able to share a verse with you each week, in hopes that it will help you, uplift you, and encourage you. 🙂

Welcome to week three of my new series – Promises of the Bible. Each week I’m going to feature one of God’s promises from the bible, share it with you, but also take time to memorize it through the week. My hope is that I am able to memorize verses (which honestly is hard for me) that will bring me comfort when I need it most down the road.

Today’s verse comes from Philippians.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19

In order to live, we as humans have some needs in our lives. Food, water, clothing and living arrangements are the main ones that come to mind. Sure, we have several wants in our lives as well, but they aren’t necessities. They are just things that we think will make us happy.

As our country continues to struggle with the pandemic, and each state is going about things differently, I have heard many people worry about how their needs are going to be met. Maybe they’ve lost a job, or there are no stores nearby. Maybe they have weak immune systems and shouldn’t be going out and about. It could be several different circumstances. But at the end of the day – God will provide.

If you think about it, God provides things in all sorts of ways. I know there are several communities that are giving meals to those in need. Churches have rallied together and are doing what they can to help. Banks are offering assistance to those who cannot make their mortgage payments. People in my community, and others I’m sure, are offering to grocery shop for the elderly and those bound to their homes.

I could go on and on.

My point is this – if we rely on Him, God will supply our needs. Even during a pandemic. And if He will do this for us, don’t you think He’s capable of doing more? Easier said than done – trust me, I know. But it’s something I want to start remembering. God will supply my needs. He’ll make sure I’m okay. He’ll protect my family. I may not have all my wants, but I have all my needs met. Let’s take a moment and thank our Heavenly Father for supplying our needs!

What’s been on your heart this week friends? I hope you’ll share in the comments, and please don’t forget to visit my friends and see what they’re sharing this week!

I’m so glad that God is willing to take care of both our physical and our spiritual needs. God is so good, all the time.
