Secret Past Review

Happy Release Day to Sharee Stover! If you are looking for an action packed thriller, this is the book for you! It was so fun to read, not just in the normal action, but also from the psychological standpoint. It was fun for me to try to get in the minds of the bad guys, to figure out who was playing who! I hope to see more from Sharee in the future!

Her life is a lie

She’s not who she thinks she is

With gunmen at her doorstep, Katie Tribani learns her true identity. She’s been in witness protection since childhood, and now her crime-lord father has found her. As bullets fly, US marshal Daniel Knight whisks her to safety—but not for long. Captured and held prisoner, only Katie can unearth her secret past…if she can survive long enough.

MY PERSPECTIVE

This book was so fun and so unique! You don’t usually associate mob type characters with a Christian book, but I thought it was fantastic. Sharee Stover does not waste any time in bringing action to this story as Katie Tribani has to start running for her life with the help of Daniel Knight. His name is brilliant – Knight. After all, he was a wonderful knight-in-shining-armor! Swoon worthy – check. Devoted – check. Trust worthy and has your back – you betcha!

The thing I found most intriguing about this book was Anthony and Giovanni. The way Sharee Stover writes these characters makes you think you have them all figured out, but the truth is you don’t. They are sick, twisted, and masterminds of manipulation. I’ll admit it, a few times I was manipulated. For a brief second, then my brain kicked in overdrive. I imagine it is difficult to write a character who is graceful and charming one minute, a snakelike the next. But it was so fun to read!

The action never stops in this thrilling read. As a reader you will be on your toes quite a bit. Just when you think Daniel is going to save the day, surprise! More action to follow. It was exhilarating to read. Katie and Daniel’s spark brings subtle romance plot, however I found that I enjoyed the action and thrill of the story more than the romance. The ending was perfect, and I hope there is more to come from this wonderful author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
