Wondering Wednesdays – Christmas Celebration!

Today’s questions is – How early do you start celebrating the Christmas season?

For those of you who do not know me, I am a Christmas nut. I sing, dance, and talk about everything Christmas basically before Halloween. Yep – I am that person. And I get it, not everyone loves Christmas as much as I do. That’s totally fine. My husband and daughter pretty much know that after my daughter’s birthday in October, I’m going to start my Christmas mode lol. Although you didn’t ask – I also want you to know that sometimes it goes into February! Yep, I make Christmas a lloooooonnnnggggg celebration!

You may be wondering how I can do that. Well here are some things I do:

Listen to Christmas music (day and night!)

Break out in random Christmas song and start dancing

Wear Christmas earrings and socks

Watch Hallmark movies

Watch old Christmas movies (I’m talking like Rudolph; The Year Without a Santa Claus; Santa Claus is Coming to Town; It’s a Wonderful Life and those types of movies)

Watch more modern Christmas movies (The Grinch; The Santa Clause 1, 2, 3; Miracle on 34th Street; and more)

Read Christmas books

Decorate

Drink hot cocoa and just look at my Christmas tree

Shop! (I don’t care for how commercialized Christmas is, however I do enjoy buying presents for my loved ones)

Read the REAL Christmas story and reflect on it’s importance

Bake! (I make tons of goodies for friends and family)

There’s probably more stuff that I’m not even thinking of, but you get the point. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!

It’s always been a practice here to start decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. It all stays up until New Years Day when I start the reversal process. Although we have downsized greatly as we have gotten older (plus moved into a smaller home), I still pretty much stick to the same basic schedule of putting up and taking down. Now I concentrate more on baking, but even that has to be streamlined from years past. After all, if baked all I wished to and had to eat it as well, I’d not get out the door to buy more ingredients to bake more. 🙂
